I am really thankful for social media and especially SU those make it easier for almost anybody to spread the word and deliver their message to the world for free and in no time.
Few years ago, the best you can do for your story is to syndicate a press release and cross your fingers hoping that some news paper correspondent pick it and republish it, or may be one of those big news websites give it the exposure that you want. Social media provides us with very good chance to have at least hundreds of people reading any story we write, up to thousands if we are lucky enough to hit some big social media website’s home page.
Why SU should be your first social media website to start promoting your story?
- Assuming you use digg, the best you can get if you don’t have a big network of friends or don’t have enough digs for your story is to get less than ten visitors to your story.
- Delicious, is almost the same, for average stories.
- Redit is a little better with 30 visits sometimes
But with SU, for almost any new story you will have a chance to get from 100-500 visits, SU has really very good mechanism in promoting new stories for even new low popularity members. Unlike other social media websites those don’t give your story any initial boost (unless you ask some friends help), SU will show your story for stumblers those are interested in your story topic in the next few hours followed your submission, so if your story is good enough, you will get more and more thumbs up and may be you will hit the buzz page and get amassing exposure, even though the worst scenario is having average story and get few hundreds visits. SU I love you..

Before stumbling your story make sure that you choose a popular category
I have clicked my stumble button 100 successive times in one session, and I have noticed that about 95% of the pages SU returns were added in categories of my interests. So if you want to write a Stumble worthy story make sure that it falls under a category with enough audiences or if you have a story that fits tow categories, make sure that you go for the more popular one.
How to know the most popular categories ? SU makes it easy for you through the tag cloud on the home page, simply the bigger is more popular.

You may ask yourself are not the popular categories getting more new stories and eventually my chance will be the same if I submit to a low popularity category will less new stories, theoretically that looks right but practically and after many experiments I find out that submitting to the popular categories is far better that low popularity ones. If you try this and find more to add on to this post please feel free to do
Best regards

As I mentioned in a previous post, the number of fans you have in your profile plays a crucial role in getting more exposure for your new story, and no matter why you are using Stumbleupon, getting more exposure for your story should be one of your goals.
So more exposure for your profile page has two benefits:
1- People may add you to their friend list and eventually that will help you to get more traffic for your stories.
2- Your favorites will have more exposure which means more traffic for your story.
Before telling you the trick I need to tell you a reality; the buzz page of Stumbleupon gets the highest traffic on the website, the reason behind that is very simple : “Each stumbler has a direct button to the buzz page through his own profile”

If you checked this page carefully you will see a clickable avatar beside each of the top stories, and if you look inside the story’s page you will find that this avatar doesn’t belong necessarily to the story discoverer, if you carefully review those avatars and match them with the story page you will find that this avatar belongs to one of those written a reviesion on the story page (not just stumble the story).

The question now is how does stumble decide which avatar to have beside each story between those written a reveiosn .. As mentioned before you need to write a revision about the story, but the second important factor is to have a long reveision

So go to the buzz page and write a reveisio, try to make it as long as possible with less spam, taking in account that stumbleupon has a button to evaluate each review.

I hope guys you will use this trick to add more value to Stumbleupon not to increase the spam load on Stumbleupon
